i also think intelligence is way too glorified and its seen as like the pinnacle of human worth when traits like compassion and goodness factor way more into our actual decisions+interactions
Intelligence is glorified because it means power which people have been seeking from the beginning of their history. Conquering new land, taking power over other people, whole world, control animals, being able to move faster than any animal, to fly despite not having wings, to be able to travel beyond our planet. Intelligence is about using your knowledge in the most efficient way, to achieve greatness, superiority in some field, to go further, faster and beyond everything we knew until some time ago. Intelligence is what we can see by it’s way it effect whole society lives. Intelligence is about constant change, evolution and becoming better.
While this poor compassion and goodness is treated like something unuseful, unimportant and insignificant. Because in race of greatness the most important are your results, your project, your intelligence to use everything to achieve your goal sometimes even if it means forgetting about other humans. Sometimes it means using people’s good traits – in the good or/and bad way. Compassion is for those, who seek peace, to seek stability in relationship, who always think about how it effect others, who are able to put humans wellbeing above their own good, their evolution, their evolution. And sometimes it helps achieve you goal when it’s purpose is for being good.
But people were always been those who were ready to bend nature for their own will, for their own benefits, who are always ready to show God middle finger and fly through stars just to show him that they don’t just fly – we, as people are beyond.
Problem is, people see compassion as something what keeps them on the ground, what makes them vulnerable in others eyes, what stops their crazy pursuit of greatness. People always wanted more of anything, but they never had enough heart for each other. And that’s our strong and weak side – we can work despite cost, but not paying attention to others is slowly destroying what we created from inside.
The real, pursued intelligence should have compassion and goodness written between it’s traits, because it’s what makes it stronger, what let it last longer, but people forget it. They just want more of everything, but what if it means using drastic methods? For them compassion is on their way.
Real intelligence have goodness in it. And that’s what’s making it more superior over clear goodness – if your intelligent you’re know how to be better… better. How to help people in more efficient way. So yeah, intelligence is really better than plain compassion, because without intelligence you wouldn’t be able to help people in right way. Cause when you see poor homeless people giving them money isn’t right solution. You have to give them purpose to fight for their wellbeing. Give them hobby, give them job, give them psychological support.
Without intelligence compassion is useless.
Without compassion intelligence lead us to more phenomenal disaster.
We should stop think that some traits are superior over other ones. Inteligent intelligence have goodness in it. Goodness without intelligence may give a lot of happiness in daily interactions, but in bigger scale only lead to bigger chaos.
