Just so people know, this story was written in June 2015. It’s been a big battle because individual states in Mexico have been forced to recognize same sex marriage, and it’s been a battle fought state by state. The supreme court’s ruling has been used to force the states, and it’s an ongoing thing. On September 6 2018, the Supreme Court of Mexico forced the state of Tamaulipas to recognize same sex marriage.
