Okay, I’m gonna talk something related with the post about southern Europe and how most of the world doesn’t give a shit
This shit is really fucking real and I’m fucking sick of it, if you aren’t from the United States or England you don’t exist, I tried to wait until more news about the topic come out, I tried to look at people in social media from other countries talk about this and I found close to nothing, so here it comes
Nicaragüa is in a dictatorship
People in Nicaragua are dying
I’m not from Nicaragua, I’m from Chile, the last country in Latin America, but my mothers family and my sister are from there, and I have to tell you, this hurts
Daniel Ortega takes over the power after defeating Somoza, another dictator that used the people to his advantage, and now Ortega is doing the same thing.
The national cops shoot to elderly people, to kids, and they don’t give a single fuck
They even try to put a sniper in some family house and when they reject the idea they BURN THEIR FUCKING HOUSE DOWN WITH THEM AND THEIR CHILDREN INSIDE
And the doctors can’t do shit because the government give the order, and if they help someone they are persecuted
This shit is real, Nicaragua lost more than 500 people and more than 1500 are harm since 18th April, they need help and they need to be visible, a reblog doesn’t look like much, but express awareness and helps to make this topic more important in the news, so please share this, make people investigate about whats happening to Nicaragüa
If you’re wondering how else you can help besides just a reblog, a good way to support local families and organizers in Nicaragua during this crisis is by donating. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the hemisphere, so international financial support goes a long way. Even a small donation of $10 can contribute a lot. And since Ortega and his government have been consolidating resources, crowdsourcing has become very necessary (and very effective).
There’s also Fundación Nicaragüense para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (Nicaraguan Foundation for Social and Economic Development), or FUNIDES, a foundation that is assisting victims and is also a resource that you can use. Hundreds, if not thousands of people have lost their jobs, homes, and life savings during this time. FUNIDES is the largest economical effort to support these families.
